Does my data stay private with Lyra?

Lyra is local-first: local models process queries entirely on your Mac. When you use the optional cloud pipeline, personal information is detected and redacted before any cloud call, and you can delete your memory at any time.

Which AI models can I run in Lyra?

Lyra runs open-source models locally via Ollama — including Mistral, Llama 3.1, Gemma, Qwen and DeepSeek — and new models we add appear automatically in the picker for you to download.

How is Lyra different from ChatGPT?

Unlike cloud chatbots, Lyra runs open-source models on your own Mac by default, so your data does not leave your device. You can optionally connect cloud models with your own API keys.

Do I need an internet connection?

No — local models work entirely offline on your Mac, including in airplane mode. Cloud models are optional and use your own provider keys.
